The Drum Machine provides a quick and easy way to create rhythmic patterns in 4/4 time, offering a selection of diverse kits.
Adding a Drum Machine
- In the Studio, click
Add Track and choose Drum Machine. Choose pre-made patterns or click Empty to start from scratch. The Drum Machine will add Patterns A and B to your track.
- Choose a Drum Kit or Drum Pad from the instruments list. Preview the sound by clicking the
Play button beside the Patterns selector on the right side of the Drum Machine.
You can change drum parts by clicking each drum element on the left side of the pattern editor.
Creating and Adding Patterns
- Select a pattern (A-H) from the Patterns selector on the right side of the Drum Machine.
- Draw your pattern by clicking on empty grid boxes. To remove individual hits, click them again, or right-click and select Clear pattern to clear everything.
- You can copy and paste patterns by right-clicking in the editor, selecting Copy, and pasting it in a different pattern editor.
Click the Add button or drag it onto your track to add the pattern. You can loop the pattern by dragging from the
Loop Icon on the region.
You can create patterns of 1, 2, or 4 bars in length from the Length Setting
Use the Swing slider to add some groove to your pattern. The amount of swing applies to all patterns in the Drum Machine
The Velocity allows you to create volume variations to add more expression to your pattern. Click the
Velocity button to enable Velocity edit. Cycle through low, medium, or maximum velocity by clicking on the drum notes

three-dot button in the top right. Tap Copy, go to a different pattern, tap the
three-dot button, and Paste.

Add at the bottom to add the pattern to your arrangement. You can loop the pattern by dragging from the
Loop Icon on the region.
