Hate Speech

• Dehumanizing or degrading speech — Comparing protected groups to subhuman entities, or making derogatory claims about their intelligence, character, morality, or worth.
• Calls for harm or exclusion — Encouraging violence, self-harm, discrimination, segregation, or denying protected groups equal participation in society.
• Targeted slurs or abusive language — Using slurs, profanity, or sexually degrading language to intimidate, harass, or demean protected groups.
• Collective blame — Holding an entire protected group responsible for the actions of an individual, government, military, or organization.
• Trivializing hate crimes or atrocities — Mocking, denying, glorifying, or celebrating genocide, ethnic cleansing, hate crimes, or other well-documented atrocities targeting protected groups.

Hate ideology

• Promotion of group superiority — Claiming one group is inherently superior or inferior to another (e.g., racial supremacy, misogyny, religious supremacy).
• Advocating discrimination or persecution — Supporting ideologies or practices that encourage discrimination, exclusion, or violence against protected groups, including harmful conversion therapy targeting LGBTQ+ individuals.
• Harmful conspiracy theories or stereotypes — Spreading false narratives that portray protected groups as secretly controlling institutions or collectively responsible for harmful or criminal acts. Examples include claims that protected groups secretly control governments or financial systems, as well as conspiracies such as the Great Replacement theory.

We consider context when enforcing this policy. The following are generally permitted when the primary purpose is to inform, report, or express opinion rather than promote hatred:

• Empowering use of slurs — Self-referential or reclaimed slurs by affected groups.
• Educational & documentary content — Content that critiques or educates about hate speech and ideologies.
• Satire or counterspeech — Clear criticism or parody of hateful beliefs or expressions.
• Respectful debate — Discussions on current issues that do not demean or attack any individual or group.
