Forking in BandLab allows users to work on forkable songs and projects published by other users. This gives artists the opportunity to pick up where the original artist left off.
By default, when you publish a project, it is not immediately forkable. You need to set your projects to Forkable under the Project Settings.
When you set a project to Forkable, you grant other users a private copy of your project to use however they wish. This allows users to build on the song, add to it, change it, and ultimately republish their own version. Enabling forks lets others feature your music in their music and videos, helping it reach more listeners.
Any projects published from your Forkable project will always be attributed to the original project. Published Forked projects will have an Inspired By tag followed by the author's name.
