Abuse & Spam

Does BandLab prohibit spam?

Yes. In accordance with our Community Guidelines, posting repetitive comments, or repeatedly following and unfollowing the same accounts can be considered as spam. This extends to private messages when we receive multiple reports about a user sending the same message to multiple users.

How do I report a message that was sent to me or stop someone from sending me messages?

If anyone is being abusive or inappropriate or otherwise violating our Community Guidelines, please drop our team a note. We take all reports seriously and will dig in immediately. We hope that everyone on BandLab will get along and make music together. However, from time to time you may come across someone who you would like to block from interacting with you. In that case, here's how you can block another user:

WebMobile
  1. Visit the profile page of the user that you wish to block
  2. Click the Triple Dot Icon beneath the user's profile picture

What should I do if someone is asking me to share a nude or sexual photo or video of myself on BandLab?

The safest thing you can do is to never share anything that you wouldn't want another person to see, regardless of your relationship with the one asking. Sharing nude or sexual photos/videos is a violation of Bandlab's Community Guidelines so the simplest answer you can give is "No, this isn't allowed on BandLab."

If you are under the age of 18, it's important to know that it is also illegal in most countries to share nude or sexually explicit images of minors on the internet, mobile devices or via any other medium.

What should I do if someone is threatening me to share things that I want to keep private?

If anyone is threatening you to share anything that you want to keep private or to do something that you are uncomfortable with, please report them to us by using our reporting system. Document down what was shared with you via a screenshot as a record and submit it to us.

Other steps you can take are:

  • Contacting local law enforcement and reporting them
  • Blocking and/or unfollowing them
What should I do if I’m being harassed, bullied or attacked by another user on BandLab?

The best way to deal with bullying and harassment on BandLab is by blocking and reporting that user. If needed, document the bullying or harassment by saving screenshots. Remember, you curate your own experience on BandLab. Don't give bullies or harassers the reaction they want from you.

If you feel that you're in immediate danger, contact your local authorities.
