How do I master my music on BandLab?

Add the final touch to elevate your projects to distribution quality on BandLab! Our mastering tool offers various options and features for mastering your music. Whether you prefer to master your tracks directly in Studio, on your project library, or through our dedicated mastering site, the choice is yours!

Our mastering tool provides a variety of presets for you to choose from.

Free BandLab Presets:

  • Universal – Sound your best through any speaker. Organic dynamic processing and tonal enhancement.
  • Fire – Stand out from the crowd. Pushed and punchy lows without muted vocals.
  • Clarity – Let your idea be heard. Pristine breathy highs with light dynamic expansion.
  • Tape – Aged to perfection. Warm tape saturation with analog dynamic processing.

Exclusive BandLab Membership Presets

  • Natural – Preserves the original tone of acoustic or natural-sounding mixes while enhancing clarity
  • Cinematic – Emphasizes the punchy low-end and preserves dynamic range in orchestral and film music
  • Spatial – Expands stereo width using spatialization effects like Stereowise
  • Punch – Adds impact and definition to hip hop and rap tracks – an alternative to the Fire presets 

Users with an active BandLab Membership will also be able to adjust the intensity of the mastering preset across multiple levels between "Light," "Normal," and "Heavy."

Mastering in Studio:

  1. Click on Mastering at the top of the screen, next to the main volume fader
  2. Tap on the available presets
  3. Adjust the Input Gain; or choose Auto Gain for the best result
  4. Select the Intensity of the Mastering Preset between "Light" and "Heavy"
  5. Click on Apply once you're done to apply the Mastering to the track

Mastering in the Library:  

  1. Click on the project you'd like to master in your Library
  2. On the revision page, click on the More_icon.png Triple-Dot Icon and select Apply Mastering
  3. Choose your Mastering preset
  4. Select the Intensity of the Mastering Preset between "0" to "100"
  5. Click Apply to master your project

Mastering via our dedicated mastering site

  1. Click on the Upload your track banner to select your audio file or click-and-drag it onto the banner from your folder
  2. Choose your Mastering preset
  3. Select the Intensity of the Mastering Preset between "0" to "100"
  4. Click Download to download your mastered audio file
