Latency can occur on BandLab Web and on our Android app, due to the flexible nature of the coding. Here's how you can fix latency:
- Click on the Settings menu at the top left corner of the Mix Editor
- Select the Latency Test
- Unplug your headphones
- Click Start Test
In the Mix Editor, tap the Gear icon near the top right of the screen (beside the Cloud Icon)
Scroll down and tap on Latency Fix
Click on Retake Test
Tap on Set Up Latency Fix
Unplug your headphones, find a quiet location and set your volume level to a comfortably loud level. Tap on 'Start Test'
If your test results are within the 0 to 30ms range, then you have successfully reduced latency that will not affect performance! If not, please proceed to the next section to perform some advanced measures.
Now plug in your earphones and turn on Monitoring via the Gear Icon, to hear back what you're recording without any latency issues!
If your test results are in the high numbers, you can compensate for the shift in samples caused by high latency via Manual Adjustment. Changing this will not reduce your phone's latency. It will only adjust the amount BandLab will compensate for new recordings.
Once you're completed your initial test and found that you have high numbers, select Advanced Settings
Now set the Manual Adjustment setting to the number shown on the latency test result
Tap on the Save to save the changes
- After creating an audio region, tap on it and select SHIFT to bring up the Latency Adjustment tab
- Precisely shift your region using the slider to compensate for latency
