How do I improve the security of my account?

To keep your personal data and projects safe, we recommend taking extra security measures to better protect your account. Here are some ways you can improve the security of your account to deter unwanted access:

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Otherwise known as Two-Step Verification or Dual-Factor Authentication, this method adds an extra layer of security on top of just using your password. When enabled, a generated code will be sent to your email address each time you log in. Follow the instructions to insert the code to log in on BandLab. To enable 2FA:

  1. Go to your profile and click on Edit Profile, or tap on Outline.png Settings if you're on your mobile device
  2. Select Security and click or tap on the Turn on 2FA button
  3. Insert the generated code sent to your registered email address
  4. Click or tap on Next, then Done
Session Control

Every time you log in to your account, the device used and the login location is recorded and listed in Sessions. If a device and login location aren't familiar to you, or if you lose your device, you can log out of the device from your current session by going to your account's Security Setting. To view and log out of a device:

  1. Go to your profile and click on Edit Profile, or tap on Outline.png Settings if you're on your mobile device
  2. Select Security, and you'll notice a list of devices you've logged in from under Sessions
  3. Click or tap on the Horizontal.png icon and select Log Out
Use a secure password
Passwords provide the first line of defence against unauthorized access to your account. On BandLab or any platform that contains your data, it's always best to create a complex and unique password. Use a combination of letters, numbers, cases and symbols to form an unpredictable password and better deter potential intruders.
