Why Are Certain Features Age-Restricted?

At BandLab, we are committed to creating a safe and positive environment for all users, especially our younger creators. To help ensure online safety, certain features—such as chats and comments—cannot be utilised by users between the ages of 13 to 18.

Why Are These Features Restricted?

Our goal is to foster a creative and safe community while complying with online safety regulations and best practices for younger users. By limiting access to direct messaging and public interactions, we aim to:

  • Protect user privacy – Reducing the risk of unwanted or inappropriate interactions.
  • Promote a safer experience – Ensuring a positive and respectful community for young creators.
  • Comply with legal guidelines – Aligning with global online safety standards for minors.
Who Does This Affect?
If you are between the ages of 13 and 18, you may notice that you cannot send or receive messages in chat or post comments on content. These restrictions are applied automatically based on your registered age.
Can I Request Access to These Features?

At this time, there are no exceptions to these restrictions. Once you reach the age of 18, full access to chat and comments will be automatically restored.

We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep BandLab a safe and inspiring space for all musicians and creators.
