What are the roles in a Band?

BandLab makes managing your Bands (and Band members) easier.

There are 3 different levels of permission in a band: the Owner, Administrators, and Members.

Everyone in the Band can create new songs, edit existing songs, and edit their own profiles, but

Administrators and Owners have additional rights like:

  • Sending invites to other users to join the Band
  • Accepting requests from other users to join the Band
  • Editing the Band Profile
  • Granting Administrator rights
  • Removing Band Members
  • Making announcements in the name of the Band in the Band's Feeds, with text, image, video and links
  • Editing all Band revision settings, including the revisions of other members
  • Editing Mastering to all Band revisions
  • Deleting the Band projects. Band Members cannot delete the projects they moved to the Band
  • Publishing all Band revisions and making them private. Band Members can only publish and unpublish the revisions they created

In addition to those points, an Owner can:

  • Revoke Administrator rights
  • Delete the Band

What if I'm a Collaborator on the project?

Collaborators not in the Band are considered external users. You can create your versions in a Band project and edit the Mastering for all revisions, but you cannot publish them. Only Band members can publish the project. Request your friend (a Band member) to publish the project or request to join the Band!
